The symptoms

This composite business had added every internal priority to the homepage. Each service had equal weight, each audience had its own paragraph and each stakeholder had secured a button.

Nothing was technically missing. The visitor was simply asked to organise the company before understanding it.

The treatment

The business chose one primary audience and promise for the opening screen, grouped services around customer problems and moved proof beside the claims it supported. Detail remained available, but it stopped blocking the front door.

The prescription

Do this next.

  1. Count competing messages in the first screen.
  2. Choose the one decision that screen must help a visitor make.
  3. Move everything else into a deliberate sequence.
